Evolve with us

Tenax is a company that has grown and expanded internationally, and is now a world leader in producing epoxy resins for natural stone.

Over the past 65 years, the company has worked alongside its customers and the industry to face the challenges of global markets, invest in innovation, and maintain a commitment to excellence. From its founding in 1956 by the Bombana family to this day, Tenax has continued to evolve and expand, now distributed in over 100 countries, thanks to the support of an investment fund and a rebranding project.

1956 – Founding

In 1956, Angelo Bombana founded Tenax in Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella (Verona) with the idea of producing mastic for the local market. The story of the company’s rise began in the 1960s when they started combining marble abrasives with mastic to enhance production, making Tenax a strategic partner for major companies in the industry.

1980 – New Management

In 1980, his sons Igino and Alberto took over the company. Under new leadership, the company underwent a transformation that improved their offerings and shaped Tenax into the successful company it is today.

1990 – The turning point with epoxy resins.

In the 1990s, Tenax made a significant breakthrough by introducing cutting-edge epoxy resins that could salvage materials previously deemed as waste. With an ever-growing range of products, Tenax set its sights on foreign markets, particularly in emerging and underdeveloped regions.

2000 – The Quarzo and Ceramica business lines

During the early 2000s, Tenax products were considered essential and dependable for global professionals who processed stone at an industrial scale. To offer an increasingly specific service, Tenax Quarzo and Tenax Ceramica were established, offering products dedicated to these materials.

1998 – 2008 – New branches worldwide

In 10 years, Tenax established 8 subsidiaries, enabling them to provide products and technical assistance to every region of the world. Today, the following are active: Spain, Brazil, USA, Turkey, India, China.

2015 – Professional Division

The Fabricator (now Professional) division took shape to serve a market segment that goes from slabs to installation and maintenance of finished products. Tenax used the experience gained over the years to specialize in a sector that complements the industrial sector.

2022 – Sun European Partners

To continue growing and evolving, Tenax joined forces with the Sun European Partners investment fund.

2023 – Hey it’s us, the new Tenax identity

Tenax has always been focused on evolving and presented a strategy for innovation to remain an ideal partner in surface processing. The company has a strong position and a new visual identity while remaining true to its long-standing values.

The sector continually evolves and needs players who can adapt to change. At Tenax, we are excited to take on new projects and challenges, viewing them as opportunities to add new elements to the brand’s story.
